Ballet Pullover

Here's my finished Ballet Pullover by Teva Durham. (From Interweave Knits Summer 2004) I used Online Linie Vision, a cool almost terry-cloth cotton-blend ribbon yarn. (Discontinued, of course. I end up with a lot of those, 'cause I'm cheap.) It's super comfortable. I made it looser than the original and shortened the sleeves. I know in her book she has a cap-sleeve version, as well, but I'm happy with the length I ended up with. I finished this back in May, in time to wear on my first Mother's Day.

Isobel Vest

My most recent FO is French Girl's Isobel Vest in Rowan Biggy Print #235. The actual knitting I completed a couple months ago, but I finally managed to do the finishing work. It can take me awhile, because I pretty much hate finishing. I think it turned out pretty good, and I really couldn't tell how it would look on until I put the tie on the back. That let me see how to position the buttons. Mine looks a little different from the original because I made it extra long (I'm 5'9"), and I'm still breastfeeding, so I have a little something extra on top. :) Plus, I wanted it a little further away from my neck, to distract from my two chins. The only trouble I had was doing the provisional cast-on the pattern called for; I kept ending up with way too many stitches. I basically knitted most of the body twice, since the first time it actually fit my husband, who's a men's XXL. We had a good laugh over that one. Here's the pictures, taken in a Japanese garden.

Lady Eleanor Entrelac Stole

Here's a project I completed around last April, Lady Eleanor from 'Scarf Style'. The pictures are from the local tulip festival. I used an (unfortunately) discontinued color of Noro Kureyon. I love the way it turned out. I think it's safe to say it is my favorite project I've done to date, both in terms of how fun it was to knit and how it looks.

I added beads to the fringe, which I love.

It made a great cover up for nursing, too. :)

Howdy!

Hi there. Welcome to my knitting/crafting blog. I hope you'll find all kinds of goodies here in the future.

In case you found this place and you don't know me, my name is Janet and I live with my husband and 10 month old baby boy in the Pacific Northwest. I'm pretty much obsessed with knitting, and I like to dabble in other crafts occasionally, too. I especially like purple yarn, so you'll probably see a lot of it here. :)

Bye for now!
